More gallery additions and site poll.
Hello, guys, and happy Saturday.
Surprise, surprise, surprise, I updated the gallery with more Stardust premiere photos. I also replaced some screencaps of Hugh going backstage at the Belasco Theatre when he was still doing his Journey’s End run. I tried to mess with the video and put it up to give to you guys, but it’s SO out of sync that it’s not worth it. But I’m working on it, I really am.
I also added more promos and behind the scenes photos from Evening and a couple odd, extra things here and there.
And in case you haven’t noticed (seven of you have voted, plus me), I added a Monthly Poll to the sidebar. I thought it would be a fun bit of interaction! I’m also hoping to think up more fan interaction things. Feel free to post some suggestions.
Other than that, that’s it!

A Possible `Next Big Thing’.
Understated Hugh Dancy Amasses Artistic Credibility.
Asked if he would like to do more American films, Hugh Dancy replies with a hint of mischief, “It sounds so grand. I’ve got three coming out this year, and that’s surely plenty for anybody.”
The 32-year-old British actor has flirted with stardom here for a few years. He could be Jude Law without the baggage and overexposure. Or Orlando Bloom with more gravitas. Dancy’s first name invokes comparisons to another Englishman named Hugh who made it big over a decade ago, Hugh Grant. That Hugh had a hit movie, “Four Weddings and a Funeral,” as his calling card.
This Hugh has yet to capture Yanks’ fancy at the box office. But he makes women swoon, and he’s stockpiling lots of artistic credibility. “Evening,” a WASPs-at-the-beach tale of wistful reminiscence, features him as Buddy, to the manor born but without manners. He drinks too much, speaks his mind too much, and might possibly like men too much to build a romance with Claire Danes’ Ann Grant. (The real Dancy has been dating Danes since they shot the film in Newport, R.I., last year.)
“Evening,” which opened Friday, is a master class of female talent: Vanessa Redgrave, Meryl Streep, Glenn Close and Toni Collette, to name a few. But suggest that the film is a chick flick and Dancy adopts the expression of a man who has just sipped rotgut when he expected a martini.
“I take issue with the chick flick bit,” he says. “There are two extremes of movies: guys’ films where everything gets reconciled with explosives. The other extreme is tied up very nicely and happy and romantic, and that’s kind of working as a chick flick. I really don’t see this movie in that framework at all.”

Gallery, DVD news, possible Bronte?
Happy Sunday! First off, I’ve been adding some sporadic stuff to the gallery - look around, you’ll never know what I replaced. Some curtain call photos from Journey’s End, Hugh attending Emily Mortimer’s wedding with McGregor, perhaps, some other odds things here and there. I think you’ll be very pleased. In addition, I also added some other stuff, too, which is in the last additions by now.
I’m also happy to say you can now pre-order Beyond the Gates (unrated) via Amazon! The DVD will be officially released on Region 1 September 18th, 2007. I only wish it could have had a better theatrical release, but at least now everyone in the USA will be able to see it.
There are also rumors that Hugh is back in Bronte. IMDb user “cstover” said he’s definitely and “officially in,” but as this isn’t a very official source, I’m waiting for the Variety announcement or from the horse’s mouth. If he is, however, it’ll start filming September 2007 and is now in pre-production. I’m happy this film is getting off the ground!

Report from the New York Post
SO, care to hear how a big-time major star who’s not only the toast but the caviar of Broadway got herself ready for the Tony Awards telecast? Per Hugh Dancy, star of B’way’s “Journey’s End”:
“Sunday afternoon, when everyone else was either rehearsing their lines or getting set to walk the red carpet or rehearsing in some way for the Tonys, Vanessa Redgrave was at our show. She came to the matinee. And was in no hurry. In a gesture very characteristic of her generosity, she even came backstage afterward to congratulate us all and tell us how much she loved it. Then what happened was, we actually gave her one of our dressing rooms to get dressed in to go right from us to the Tonys.”

The Tonys, media.
Hello again, guys. If you haven’t already learned, Journey’s End picked up a Tony last night as well as closed. Right now, I have no real way of getting the video from last night on to the site, but I will do my best. If you would like to donate, it would be more than appreciated.
I also added a new VIDEO. Download it below or at the video page. Thanks, Nick!
