Gap campaign confirmed? |
|
May 5, 2008 |
|
According to Fab Sugar, it has been! I can’t wait to see the pictures. Hell, I can’t wait to go into a Gap store and see his face plastered everywhere!
Gap has long been known for choosing an eclectic mix of well-known A-listers and up-and-comers to star in their advertising campaigns. I already informed you about Ginnifer Goodwin’s involvement in the upcoming Fall campaign, but the list goes on and on.
Actors Liv Tyler (who has modeled for the brand before, left), Hugh Dancy, Fabcon Clemence Poesy, Catalina Moreno, Edgar Ramirez, and photographers Scott Schuman (The Sartorialist) and Ryan McGinley are also featured in the ads, which will launch this Summer.
Rounding out the list are Marchesa designer Georgina Chapman, Fab Face Chanel Iman, screenwriter David Benioff, Visionaire founder Cecilia Dean, and Misshapes DJ Leigh Lezark.

Hugh Dancy Gets Sassy, Discusses Hipsters |
|
April 8, 2008 |
|
Hugh Dancy’s in town from London to film Confessions of a Shopaholic, and he brought his sass with him. We bumped into the actor at last night’s screening of Standard Operating Procedure at MoMA and asked him if he was a shopaholic. “No, I’m the dude,” he deadpanned as we stared at his new beard. “This doesn’t count as a beard. This is just a lifelong habit, a tendency towards laziness,” Dancy explained. Um, beards are “in” right now, hello?! “I haven’t noticed that. The last habit I noticed in New York was guys wearing skinny jeans and plaid.” We asked if Hugh felt he could pull off skinny jeans. “That’s a loaded question,” Sassy McSasster replied (he went there, not us). Then he went off about how New York lags behind London when it comes to such hipster fashions. “The honest truth is that people were wearing all that stuff in London two years ago. hat all the artists are wearing in London, you’ll see six months later here,” he said. Oh,yeah? Then name another hipster trend, Dancy. We dare you. “Stripes, for a while. You know what I mean: You go into trendy bars, and it’s like you’ve just suddenly become epileptic. Okay, that’s probably enough.” We wish you luck in Brooklyn, Hugh. Sort of.

Hugh for Save the Children UK. |
|
March 15, 2008 |
|
I uncovered a new picture of Hugh as well as a quote from Save the Children UK, a charity organization designed to help underprivileged children and families in third world countries. I’m quite proud that Hugh is a part of this organization! Click here to find out more and read his press release quote. You can also click the picture to go to the gallery and get a bigger version.
“I’m delighted to be supporting Save the Children’s campaign. It’s outrageous that millions of the world’s poorest and most neglected children are being ignored. Simple steps such as buying a mosquito net will protect a child at risk of malaria.”

Two new actors added to “Shopaholic” cast. |
|

Some semi-Hugh/Shopaholic news! Sounds good to me.
Joan Cusack and John Goodman have joined the cast of Touchstone Pictures’ “Confessions of a Shopaholic.” Isla Fisher has already boarded the comedy as the star.
Film is based on the bestselling Sophie Kinsella novel, which centers on a woman who must deal with the stresses of mounting credit card debt while trying to navigate the New York magazine world. Goodman and Cusack will play the parents of Fisher’s character. Hugh Dancy and Krysten Ritter also star.
P.J. Hogan is directing, and Jerry Bruckheimer produces. Film is lensing in New York and Connecticut.
Cusack (”Friends With Money”) will appear in the upcoming film “Kit Kittredge: An American Girl Mystery.”
Goodman will next be seen in Warner Bros.’ “Speed Racer.” He recently lent his voice to the DreamWorks animated film “Bee Movie” and co-starred in Universal’s “Evan Almighty.”
