Happy Birthday Hugh!

From all the people at HDi, and in case he ever reads this, HAPPY 33rd BIRTHDAY, HUGH DANCY! We wish him the very best - health, prosperity, fame, and fun. It’s been one hell of a two years working on the site, and I’ve enjoyed (and plan to enjoy, even in the slow times and the not-so-slow times!) every minute of it. Here’s to another one! And oh, Hugh, if you happen to read this, you still don’t look a day over 33.

Happy New Year!

One year ago, Hugh was in rehearsals for Journey’s End and rocking our world by debuting his new relationship with Claire Danes. Oh, what a difference a year makes! I hope everyone has a safe, happy new year and keeps coming back to HDi every day for the latest on Hugh (who will hopefully have a bombastic New Years Eve).

I wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday and a wonderful new year.

Beginner’s Pluck

I found this little Hugh mention at Vanity Fair. Please note that this isn’t a new Hugh role, just a mention and a compliment given the writer envisions him for one of the roles in his book! You never know what could happen at the end of the day.

Hollywood has been buzzing about Beginner’s Greek ever since advance copies became available. Replete with unforgettable characters and a captivating plot, this irresistible love story has everything it needs to transition seamlessly to the big screen. So we asked the author—a Time magazine veteran who’s found his true calling in fiction writing—what his ideal cast would look like. Here’s what he envisions:

Topher Grace as the quietly charming Peter; Keira Knightley as the enchantingly sweet Holly; Hugh Dancy as Peter’s libidinous best friend, Jonathan; Cate Blanchett (or perhaps a less sophisticated look-alike) as Peter’s tiresome fiancée, Charlotte; Jack Nicholson as Charlotte’s arrogant father, Dick; Lara Flynn Boyle as Charlotte’s spoiled stepmother, Julia; Jeff Bridges as Holly’s delightfully dissolute father, Graham; and George Clooney as Peter’s debonair boss, Arthur.
