Is Hugh Luke Brandon?

So I was browsing around Jerry Bruckheimer’s Official Site, and I came to the small and meager section it has for Confessions of a Shopaholic. Under “Credits,” his website lists Hugh is playing the character Luke Brandon, as opposed to Philip, whom everyone was thinking he’s portraying. Here is a screen shot below.

What do YOU think?

  1. Franka Says:

    I think/hope he is! :)

  2. EmmaB Says:

Who is the character Luke Brandon - what is his significance in the storyline?

  3. Anna Says:

Emma, I suppose you could say that Luke is the lead male, opposite to Isla Fisher, the lead female. So if he’s Luke, it’s a big role.

  4. EmmaB Says:

Yeay!! I just read in the chat box that you said he was playing a character who is the perfect man - such typecasting! Hugh IS the perfect man. Let’s hope it happens.

  5. Sorren Says:

I just received an e-newsletter from Sophie Kinsella to found out that Confessions of a Shopaholic will be filming this year!!! I’ve read all the Shopaholic books (series) and Luke Brandon is one of my beloved characters of all time (the perfect hubby). IMDB doesn’t mention Hugh Dancy as Luke Brandon but I really hope he would play that role! After learning that the movie’s setting is U.S. instead of London, it would be appreciated that Hugh should play Luke! (^o^)

  6. Franka Says:

The movie’s setting is in the US? I wonder why that is… I was hoping for it to take place in London, just like in the (first) Shopaholic book!

  7. Jess Says:

I loooove this book and I think Hugh Dancy would play a great Luke Brandon!

  8. Eugenia Says:

I don’t know…I love the Shopaholic series and own it. But Hugh Dancy as Luke Brandon does not fit my image of Luke.

He doesn’t seem like the successful entrepreneur type who is obsessed with work. But he does fit the side that would be entranced by Becky and her quirks.

So it works one way but not the other.
    We’ll see.
