“Art of Deception”?

IMDBPro has Hugh listed as a rumoured star of the up-and-coming drama, Art of Deception, also starring Diane Kruger. Hugh is rumored to play the character of “Han Van Meegeren,” and the plot synopsis seems to indicate (“The life and work of famous Dutch art forger Han van Meegeren.”) it’s a biopic! I will keep you guys up-to-date as information comes in. This sounds like a good one!

Is Hugh Luke Brandon?

So I was browsing around Jerry Bruckheimer’s Official Site, and I came to the small and meager section it has for Confessions of a Shopaholic. Under “Credits,” his website lists Hugh is playing the character Luke Brandon, as opposed to Philip, whom everyone was thinking he’s portraying. Here is a screen shot below.

Hugh Dancy Elligable as Lead Actor in Journey’s End.

The Tony Award Administration Committee met on April 12 to decide the eligibility of four Broadway productions for the 2007 American Theatre Wing’s Tony Awards, presented by the League of American Theatres and Producers and the American Theatre Wing. The following decisions were announced:

Jefferson Mays will be considered in the Featured Actor in a Play category for his performance as Private Mason in Journey’s End. Mays is billed above the title along with co-stars Hugh Dancy (Captain Stanhope) and Boyd Gaines (Lieutenant Osborne), who will remain in contention in the Leading Actor category. Mays will now be considered in the same category as his young co-star Stark Sands (2nd Lieutenant Raleigh).

This is the fourth time the Tony Award Administration Committee has met, and it will have one more meeting to discuss the eligibility of the remaining shows opening in the 2006-2007 season. The cut-off date for eligibility is May 9, and nominations will be announced on May 15. The Tony Awards will be broadcast in a live three-hour ceremony from Radio City Music Hall on June 10.

Angela Workman’s Vision.

Angela Workman, the writer and director of Brontë, one of Hugh’s upcoming films, updated this blog and shared a tidbit on the casting of Hugh as “George Smith.”

The scenes set in London must play in rich contrast against everything back home. Hugh Dancy, who is so eager to play the role of the publisher George Smith, is the perfect embodiment of this youthful, brilliant, shining young man born to a higher class than the other young men in this story, and for whom Charlotte develops an enormous passion against every sensible instinct. I’ve cast Hugh as the ideal foil to both Branwell and Arthur.

Mind you, the filming hasn’t started, this is just her “vision.” Can’t wait to see how it progresses! I’m just glad it’s getting off the ground.

“In Every Human Heart” shoe in.

It looks like, according to IMDB and MovieWeb.com, we should expect a title change for Shooting Dogs in the light of In Every Human Heart for U.S. shores. Another release date that might be inevidable is February 2nd, 2007 in limited theatres. I’m not going to lie and not put out my opinion. It’s a crap time to toss in a movie that really should get a pre-January release (to apply for Oscars), but I digress. I thought you guys should be the first to know. As it stands, we’ll could have three Hugh releases in 2007!

HDi’s previous affiliate, Cliveowen.org, is now under new management and has changed its URL to Clive-Owen.org. It’s still an excellent Clive source (and as you know, he was one of Hugh’s co-stars in King Arthur), not to mention a beautiful fansite. So check it out.

One last thing, over this weekend I’ll be endeavoring to spruce up the Media section, adding videos and audio and overcompensating for what isn’t there! Thank you for your patience.
