One year ago, Hugh was in rehearsals for Journey’s End and rocking our world by debuting his new relationship with Claire Danes. Oh, what a difference a year makes! I hope everyone has a safe, happy new year and keeps coming back to HDi every day for the latest on Hugh (who will hopefully have a bombastic New Years Eve).
Merry Christmas (or Happy Christmas!) and Happy Holidays to all the people – all 280,000+ of you – who’ve supported HDi from the very beginning. We’re going on two years in March, this is our second holiday season, and so much good stuff has happened in the last year! I hope 2008 can be even more wonderful. I wish everyone a healthy and happy holiday and a wonderful new year.
I found this little Hugh mention at Vanity Fair. Please note that this isn’t a new Hugh role, just a mention and a compliment given the writer envisions him for one of the roles in his book! You never know what could happen at the end of the day.
Hollywood has been buzzing about Beginner’s Greek ever since advance copies became available. Replete with unforgettable characters and a captivating plot, this irresistible love story has everything it needs to transition seamlessly to the big screen. So we asked the author—a Time magazine veteran who’s found his true calling in fiction writing—what his ideal cast would look like. Here’s what he envisions:
Topher Grace as the quietly charming Peter; Keira Knightley as the enchantingly sweet Holly; Hugh Dancy as Peter’s libidinous best friend, Jonathan; Cate Blanchett (or perhaps a less sophisticated look-alike) as Peter’s tiresome fiancée, Charlotte; Jack Nicholson as Charlotte’s arrogant father, Dick; Lara Flynn Boyle as Charlotte’s spoiled stepmother, Julia; Jeff Bridges as Holly’s delightfully dissolute father, Graham; and George Clooney as Peter’s debonair boss, Arthur.
I received a very, very informative e-mail from our contributor Doro. If you live in England, indulge yourself! It airs from 10-10:30 PM every night for the next eight weeks. Read below for more details. thanks again!
‘The Children of Helen House’ is a very moving account of terminally ill children which are treated and accompanied during the last days in the Helen House Children’s hospice which is so highly regarded that it became a model for children’s hospices all over the world. The TV show will be broadcast on BBC 2 in eight parts the first of which was shown last night.Hugh’s thoughtful narration contributes to the dignified overall presentation of the programme.
Big hugs and lots of love,
Doro
As far as the “other” news (and I use that lightly) goes…it’s all gossip, and funny gossip at that. If you get Hugh in your Google Alerts, you know what I’m talking about.
