I picked up The Jane Austen Book Club DVD yesterday and screencapped a few goodies, including screencaps of the entire movie. I will try and add some video if and when I have some extra time, which could be this weekend, but I can’t make any promises. Enjoy, as always!

Hello, everyone! Bit of happy news for UK fans. The Jane Austen Book Club will be released MARCH 17th, 2008! This is about a month and a half after the US release, so that isn’t too bad. The scenes are identical to the US release, and I don’t have the cover art yet:

I uncovered the DVD cover of The Jane Austen Book Club at DVD Active, and it’s nice aside from one minor detail, it’s missing Hugh! I guess they thought Jimmy Smits would rack in more interest, but it completely gives off the wrong message. Hopefully there’ll be a big photo of Hugh on the back though. The DVD is set to be released February 5th, 2008 in both BluRay and standard form.

Sony will bring the chick-lit drama ‘The Jane Austen Book Club’ to Blu-ray this February, in a special edition boasting a library’s worth of supplemental features.

Despite an all-star cast including Emily Blunt, Maria Bello, Hugh Dancy, Maggie Grace and Kathy Baker, ‘The Jane Austen Book Club’ failed to make much of a dent at the fall box office, earning a meager gross of less than $5 million.

Sony will give the film another push with a February 5, 2008 bow on both Blu-ray and standard-def DVD, promising an extensive set of supplements.

Extras shared by both releases will include an audio commentary with cast & crew (exact participants TBA), four featurettes (“Behind-the-Scenes of The Jane Austen Book Club,” “The Life of Jane Austen,” “Walking the Red Carpet: Los Angeles Premiere,” “The Book Club: Deconstructed”) and deleted scenes.

Tech specs for the Blu-ray boast 1080p/AVC MPEG-4 video and uncompressed PCM 5.1 Surround (48kHz/24-bit) audio.

Sony has set a suggested list price of $38.95 for the Blu-ray.
