Not even the stress of wedding planning can cause Claire Danes to lose her cool, a friend of the star tells PEOPLE.

“She’s so calm and excited about it,” Mamie Gummer says of the actress’ upcoming nuptials to Hugh Dancy. “She is going to be the most beautiful bride.”

Gummer costarred with Danes, 30, and Dancy, 33, in Evening, which was filmed in Newport, R.I., in 2007. She says it was privilege to watch the pair meet and fall in love as they bonded over games of Boggle and Scrabble.

“I was there when it was happening and it’s something that I will never forget,” Gummer tells PEOPLE at the Chanel and Tribeca Film Festival Artists’ Dinner in New York on Thursday.

Gummer is also a close friend to the couple, who got engaged in February, and will take part in the wedding ceremony.

“I’m going to be a bridesmaid,” she says. “I am so honored that she asked me and I’m incredibly happy for them. They are perfect for each other.” As for the date of the wedding, “I can’t tell you that,” Gummer replies coyly.

I found an old Evening interview done in New York City about a year ago this time. It’s pretty amusing in a lot of ways and it’s short and sweet. Enjoy.

I think we would all agree wholeheartedly!

7. Hugh Dancy – Evening
Hiding deep within this chick flick’s 1950’s privileged society flashbacks was Dancy as the guy on the wrong end of a woman’s passion for another man (Claire Danes, Patrick Wilson respectively). It wasn’t much of a role, really, but what Dancy managed to do with it was nothing short of miraculous.

Hi, guys, not much to update about today. Thanks to my friend Ann (who even makes an appearance in the gallery under Stage Door pics!) for screencapping another version of the Evening trailer that she found. You can watch that here. Everything’s the same except they replaced the “Harris is a doctor of medicine” (which sounds like a pharmacist, Buddy) with a scene where Buddy hugs him on the duck. They also changed some of the dialogue around in the beginning. Instead of Vanessa Redgrave’s character just saying “personally killed Buddy” at the beginning, she adds, “Mine and Buddy’s. Buddy loved him, too, personally killed Buddy.”

I also added a bunch more photos to the Portier appearance album, but as I don’t have a specific count as to how many I added, I’ll just show how many there really are.
