Eddie Redmayne, Hugh’s co-star from Elizabeth I and Savage Grace recently did a hilarious interview in the March 2008 issue of Interview Magazine. He was interviewed by Burberry’s creative director, Christopher Bailey, who is also a friend of Hugh and was seen in the most recent event photos and candid pictures. Enjoy the funny bits below, and read the whole thing here!

Christopher Bailey: But I want you to tell me about Savage Grace: Is that the one where you play Julianne Moore’s gay son?

Eddie Redmayne: Exactly.

CB: And is that the one with Hugh?

ER: That is the one with Hugh Dancy.

CB: And you snog the Dancy?

ER: I get to snog the Dancy. [Bailey laughs] The last time I read Interview magazine, there was an interview with Hugh by a friend of ours called Toby Jones, a wonderful actor, in which the two of them mocked my horse riding in the most barbaric way, and I’ve been angry ever since.

Hey guys, what’s up? Just a fair warning now – expect updates to be fewer and farther between. College has started back up again and my schedule goes for about six hours every single day. Annoying, yes, but necessary. I really don’t have much to update about, but there’s some.

For one, congratulations to Helen Mirren and Jeremy Irons for their SAG wins last night on behalf of Elizabeth I! Everyone part of the cast can feel very proud.

Secondly, I added a new interview to the Press section called, “Stalking the loup garoux with actor Hugh Dancy.” You can read it here or at Fearsmag.com. Thirdly, I added a scan of Hugh/Claire in Star Magazine thanks to Sammie. Keep in mind that gallery registrations are closed until February 22nd!

Lastly, Hugh is #169 on IMDb “Star Meter”. For those of you who aren’t Pro members, it tracks profile views by the week. This is the lowest number Hugh’s been since 2004, and I think the lowest he’s ever been in HISTORY! He usually levels off at about 1,000. So congratulations to him!

Golden Globes!

Posted by admin

Congratulations to Elizabeth I for its three wins at the Golden Globes including Best Miniseries/Made-for-TV Movie, Best Actress in a Miniseries (Helen Mirren), and Best Supporting Actor in a Miniseries (Jeremy Irons)!

December 19, 2006

Apparently Hugh was nominated for an 11th Annual Satellite Award for the obvious category, ACTOR IN A MINISERIES OR A MOTION PICTURE MADE FOR TELEVISION. I’m sorry I didn’t report this to you earlier, but it didn’t come up in any Google Alert. I found it after a bunch of extra news searches!

Hugh was nominated for his role in Elizabeth I. He was up against Andre Braugher (“Thief”), Ben Kingsley (“Mrs. Harris”), Charles Dance (“Bleak House”) and winner Billy Nighy (“Gideon’s Daughter”). While it was a loss, it was still a huge honor for him to be nominated for starring actor as opposed to supporting, as well as amongst a great group of actors.

Unfortunately, it wasn’t a lucky night for Elizabeth I. However, Hugh’s co-star Helen Mirren still won Best Actress for The Queen. Many, many congrats to her and all the winners. Winners were announced December 17th in Hollywood. For those who don’t know, the Satellite Awards are an alternative to the Golden Globes and Emmys.
